What this policy covers

Effective date: July 29, 2026

This policy explains what personal information Alaskan King Crab Direct ("we", "us", "our") collects on alaskankingcrabdirect.com, why we collect it, who it goes to, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website and the reservations placed through it.

We are based in Los Angeles, California, and we sell wild Alaskan king crab legs direct to customers. This policy is written to meet the California Online Privacy Protection Act (California Business and Professions Code sections 22575 through 22579).

The short version

Categories of personal information we collect

What you give us on the reservation form

The reservation form is the only place on this site where you hand us personal information. Submitting it is a reservation, not a completed purchase, and it charges you nothing. The form collects:

The notes field is free text and optional. Please keep sensitive information out of it. We only need what helps us fill your order.

What is collected automatically

This site runs Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-30PJ5N87FZ). It sets cookies in your browser and collects usage data such as:

That data tells us which pages actually help people order crab. We do not use it to build a profile of you by name.

What we do not collect here

Why we collect it

We use what you give us to run your order, and for nothing unrelated to it:

Payments: nothing is charged on this site

After you reserve, we confirm availability, the pickup or delivery window, and any shipping cost. Then we send a secure payment link by text or email, usually within 24 hours. You enter payment details on the payment provider's own secure system, never on this website.

We do not see or store your full card number. We will never ask you to send card, bank, or account details in a plain email, a text message, or over the phone. If you get a message that looks like it is from us and asks for that, it is not from us.

Cookies, analytics, and tracking across sites

Google Analytics 4 is the analytics tool we use on this site. It relies on cookies and similar identifiers stored in your browser. Google is a third party, and Google may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites when you use this site. That disclosure is required by California Business and Professions Code section 22575(b)(6), and we would rather say it plainly than bury it.

You have real ways to limit this:

Blocking analytics cookies does not stop you from placing a reservation. The form still works.

If we ever add another tracking, advertising, or chat tool to this site, we will update this policy and its effective date.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed industry standard for how a website must answer that signal, and this site does not currently respond to it or change what it collects based on it. That is the honest answer, and California law requires us to give it.

What we can tell you is what we do not do. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your reservation details for advertising. If you want to stop analytics collection, the browser add-on and cookie controls above are the reliable route.

Categories of third parties we share information with

We share only what is needed, only with the parties below, and only for the reasons already described:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing. California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code section 1798.83) lets California residents ask what personal information a business shared with third parties for those third parties' direct marketing purposes. Our answer is none.

How long we keep your information

Your reservation reaches us as an email, so a copy of what you submitted lives in our email records. Here is how we treat it:

If you want your details out of our records, ask. We delete what we are not legally required to keep, and we tell you what we kept and why.

Your choices and your rights

The California Consumer Privacy Act applies to businesses above certain size thresholds. We are a small, new business and we do not currently meet them. We honor these requests anyway, because they are the right way to treat a customer:

How to make a request

Use the reservation form at https://alaskankingcrabdirect.com/#order and state what you want in the notes field. If you have already ordered, replying to the email or text on your order confirmation is faster, because that thread already carries the contact details for your order.

We need enough information to match you to your records, usually the name, email, and phone you used on the reservation. We do not charge for these requests, and we handle them as quickly as we reasonably can.

Children under 13

This site is meant for adults buying seafood. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the site has no accounts or features aimed at children. If you believe a child under 13 submitted information through our form, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. We are not going to claim more than that. No website, email system, or storage method is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.

The strongest protection here is structural: this site takes no payment data, so there is no card information sitting anywhere for someone to take.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we post the updated version on this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes (a new tracking tool, a new category of information, a new third party receiving your data) will be called out clearly on this page rather than slipped in quietly.

Because the site has no accounts and no mailing list, this page is how we announce changes. Check the effective date to see whether anything has changed since you last read it.

How to reach us

Being straight with you: the reservation form is currently the only contact channel published on this website. There is no published phone number or email address for Alaskan King Crab Direct yet.

When we publish a direct email address or phone number, it will appear here.

Governing law

Alaskan King Crab Direct operates from Los Angeles, California. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
