Terms of Service
The short version
Effective date: July 29, 2026
These terms cover your use of alaskankingcrabdirect.com and any order you place with Alaskan King Crab Direct ("we", "us", "our"). Using this site or reserving crab means you accept them.
- Reserving is free and commits you to nothing. It is a request, not a purchase.
- Nothing is charged until we confirm your order and you pay the secure link we send.
- The crab arrives frozen and raw. Once it is in your hands, storing and cooking it safely is on you.
- This is shellfish. If anyone at your table has a shellfish allergy, do not order.
A reservation is not yet a sale
This is the most important thing on this page, so it goes first. When you submit the reservation form you are asking us to hold crab for you. You are not buying it yet. No contract of sale exists at that moment, and nothing is charged.
A sale happens only when both of these are true: we confirm to you that we have the crab and can fulfill the way you asked, and you pay the secure payment link we send you. We usually send that confirmation within 24 hours of a reservation.
Until those two things happen, either of us can walk away at no cost. We may decline or cancel a reservation for any lawful reason, including running out of stock, being unable to reach you, or being unable to serve your address safely. If we decline, you owe nothing.
Who can order
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. By reserving, you confirm that you are.
Someone at least 18 years old must be able to receive a delivery or collect a pickup. This is perishable food, and we will not leave it with a minor.
The information you give us has to be right
Perishable food is unforgiving about bad addresses and dead phone numbers. You are responsible for the accuracy of the name, phone, email, and location details you give us.
If we cannot reach you to confirm, or an order fails because the details you provided were wrong, we will do our best to fix it, but we cannot take responsibility for product that spoils as a result. Tell us right away if anything changes after you reserve.
Pricing and availability
Our price is $85 per pound flat. Box prices shown on this site are $170 for the 2 lb box, $425 for the 5 lb box, and $850 for the 10 lb box.
Prices and availability can change until we confirm your order. If anything has changed since you reserved, we tell you before you pay, and you are free to walk away. The price we confirm in writing is the price you pay. Any delivery or shipping cost that applies is quoted and agreed with you before payment, never added afterward.
We try hard to keep this site accurate, but if an obvious error appears in a price or a description, we are not obligated to honor it. We will tell you and let you decide.
Shellfish allergy warning
King crab is shellfish. Shellfish is one of the major food allergens, and reactions can be severe. Do not order if you or anyone who will eat this has a shellfish allergy. Our product is handled in facilities that work with seafood, and we cannot promise separation from other shellfish or fish.
This is raw frozen food, and handling it is your responsibility
We sell wild Alaskan king crab legs frozen, cleaned to the half shell, for you to prepare at home. We are responsible for the condition it is in when it reaches you. You are responsible for what happens after that.
When you receive your order, get it into a freezer or refrigerator right away. Do not leave it sitting out. Thaw it in the refrigerator rather than on a counter, keep it cold until you cook it, and cook and serve it following normal food safety practice for seafood. If something looks or smells wrong, do not eat it. Contact us instead.
Consuming raw or undercooked seafood can increase your risk of foodborne illness. We cannot be responsible for illness or loss caused by improper storage, thawing, handling, or cooking after your order has been handed over to you.
Refunds
Our Refund and Replacement Policy is part of these terms. In short: perishable food is final sale, but if your order arrives damaged, incorrect, thawed, short weight, or not as described, contact us within 24 hours with photos and we will make it right. Read the full policy for how that works.
Fulfillment
How pickup, local delivery, Northern California runs, and frozen shipping work is set out on our Shipping, Pickup, and Delivery page, which is also part of these terms. Timing windows and any applicable costs are confirmed with you before you pay.
Using this site
Use the site for its intended purpose: learning about our crab and reserving some. Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems, do not submit false reservations or someone else's personal information, and do not use the site for anything unlawful.
We may suspend access or refuse service to anyone abusing the site or the reservation form.
Our content
The text, photography, layout, logo, and design on this site belong to us and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and share the pages normally. You may not copy the content for commercial use, republish it as your own, or use our name or logo to suggest we endorse you, without our written permission.
Disclaimers and the limit of what we owe you
We stand behind the crab. What we cannot do is guarantee outcomes that depend on things outside our control.
The website itself is provided as-is. We do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose with respect to the site.
For any order, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you actually paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, which in plain English means things like a ruined dinner party, travel costs, or lost profits. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here takes away rights you have under California consumer protection law.
Events outside anyone's control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by things we cannot control, including weather, carrier disruption, equipment or cold-chain failure at a carrier, supply interruptions from Alaska, natural disasters, or government action. If something like that affects your order, we will tell you, and you can choose to reschedule or to cancel for a full refund of anything you have paid.
Privacy
What we collect and what we do with it is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and we each agree to that venue.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the effective date at the top of this page and post the new version here. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in effect on the day we confirm it. If a change matters, we will say so plainly rather than quietly swapping the text.
If part of this does not hold up
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing something once does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later.
Reaching us
Questions about these terms, or about an order, go through the reservation form on our homepage, or by replying to the confirmation message we send you about your order. If you have an open order with us, replying to that confirmation is the fastest route to a person.
